The report Dirty Profits 9: How much Pain for Corporate Gain? focuses on financial institutions that, among other things, invest in mining companies that violate the rights of Indigenous Peoples, lend to European pesticide manufacturers that sell their toxic products to countries with less stringent standards, and facilitate the placement of bonds for defense contractors that profit from the war in Yemen. In total, more than 31 billion euros can be attributed to corporate financing for the in the report examined companies, and the investment volume amounts to over 15 billion euros. The financial institutions examined not only profit themselves from the financial support of the companies under investigation, but in many cases make such business models possible in the first place through the capital provided.
